With a history stretching back to 1862, the University of Southampton is one of Britain’s leading research universities and it’s renowned for its innovation and enterprise.

Southampton has some unique specialisations amongst which are Forensic Science and Archaeology, Naval Architecture, Acoustics and the universities School of Ocean and Earth Sciences is based at The National Oceanography Centre Southampton (NOCS), one of the world’s largest research and training centres in marine biochemistry, physical oceanography and ecology.

Location

Located in the county of Hampshire on the south coast of England, Southampton is just an hour away from London.

Southampton is surrounded by areas of natural beauty, including the New Forest and the Isle of Wight. Superb road, rail, air and sea links provide a convenient and easy connection to the rest of the UK and Europe.

Southampton is a major port and sailing centre where some of the world’s largest cruise ships stop over regularly. Amongst others, you can marvel at the Southampton-New York Atlantic liner RMS Queen Mary II.

  • Race Car Aerodynamics MSc 

The Race Car Aerodynamics masters degree is recognised as a world-leading course for those wanting to enter Formula One as aerodynamicists and CFD engineers. The theme emphasises the fundamentals of aerodynamics as a subject by focusing on analysis, computation and measurement of turbulent flows associated with high performance race cars.

It will suit graduates or similarly qualified individuals from engineering, scientific and mathematical backgrounds, with some experience of fluid dynamics who are aiming for advanced specialisation in aerodynamics.

Accredited by the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) and the Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE).

The MSc Electronic Engineering is a portfolio masters degree, enabling you to further your knowledge of a number of areas, such as micro and nanoelectronics, optoelectronics, micro and nanotechnology, and wireless communications.
